Announcement of BOSLA-SNDT Seminar 2023

Dear Professionals and BOSLA Members,

 It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce the upcoming Prestigious and Graceful event of the BOSLA: A Seminar on the Occasion of Commemoration of Padmashree Dr. S. R. Rangnathan’s 131st Birth Anniversary. Each year, we come together to celebrate the birth anniversary of this remarkable individual, while delving into contemporary and burning topics that impact our society.

 In today’s fast-paced digital and social media-driven world, there is a growing concern about the dwindling reading culture and the drastic changes it has brought about. Hence, for this year’s event, we have thoughtfully chosen the theme: “Developing Reading Habits: Competencies, Skills & Techniques for Librarians” We believe that libraries play a crucial role in promoting a reading culture that not only enhances the well-being of individuals but also fosters inclusivity and engagement within our communities.

 With the advent of the internet and social media, there has been a shift in how information is consumed, and we find ourselves questioning the impact it has on our collective reading habits. Through this event, we aim to explore innovative ways in which libraries can adapt and flourish in the digital era, ensuring that reading continues to enrich our lives and minds.

 We have invited esteemed experts, thought leaders, and scholars in the field of literature, library sciences, and community engagement to share their valuable insights and experiences during this event. Together, we will learn how libraries can serve as vital platforms to bridge gaps in our society, encourage inclusivity, and nurture a love for reading among all age groups.
