They started meeting frequently to discuss and explore the possibilities of developing closer ties than routine inter-library loan. As a result of these efforts\, the Bombay Science Librarian’s Association (BOSLA) was formed in October 1975. \n​Presently\, the association has grown to include more than 500 life members nationwide. The association keeps organizing seminars\, conferences\, and workshops in association with various institutions with the main objective of upskilling the working knowledge of the librarians. \n  \n\nMain objectives of the Association:\nTo improve the services of the Bombay science libraries.\nTo cooperate actively so as to benefit mutually by the resources available to the libraries.\nTo strengthen the financial resources of the science libraries in Bombay.\nTo raise the professional standard of library staff in the Bombay science libraries.\nTo improve the status and service conditions of the library staffers in Bombay.\nTo maintain liaison between the professionals and the Government.\nAbout Maharashtra National Law University\, Mumbai & KRC\n\nMaharashtra National Law University Mumbai is one of the premier National Law Universities in India to impart advanced legal education and promote society-oriented research in legal studies to advance the societal life of the people in the country.   The University offers BA. LL.B.(Hons.) five years integrated program\, one year LL.M. program\, LL.M. (Executive)\, LL.M (Investment and Security Laws) in association with National Institute of Securities Markets\, SEBI\, M.A. (Mediation and Conflict Resolution)\, Post Graduate Diploma Programmes\, among others. MNLU Mumbai believes in the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution viz. Justice\, Liberty\, Equality\, Fraternity\, Secularism\, Humanism etc.\, and makes all out efforts to inculcate them amongst its students\, staff\, and others to make this institution not only a center of legal knowledge but also an inclusive center of humanity. \nThe MNLU Knowledge Resource Centre is an example of excellence regarding services and collection. This is fully computerized Wi-Fi Knowledge Resource Centre has on more than 14\, 000 volumes which include a comprehensive array of legal and social sciences resources in both print and electronic formats. MNLU Knowledge Resource Centre has subscribed 18 plus legal E-resources. The Knowledge Resource Centre functions and services are fully automated with state-of-the-art Koha-LMS software and the latest RFID/EM technology”. \n  \n\nAbout DPIIT IPR Chair\n\nDepartment for Promotion of Industries and Internal Trade (DPIIT)\, Ministry of Commerce and Industry\, Government of India\, launched a Scheme for Pedagogy & Research in IPRs for Holistic Education & Academia (SPRIHA) in the year 2016 under which IPR Chairs have been set up in select universities and academic institutes. This was in accordance National IPR Policy launched by the Government of India in 2016\, which proclaims\, as one of the objectives under section 7.2 as\, “Strengthen IP Chairs in educational institutes of higher learning to provide quality teaching and research develop teaching capacity and curricula and evaluate their work on performance based criteria.”  MNLU Mumbai has been selected by the DPIIT as one of the 12 universities/organizations for setting up IPR Chairs in the country. \n————————————————————————————————————— \n\nAbout Webinar\n\nBOSLA and MNLU Mumbai (KRC) have collaboratively organized an online National Level webinar to commemorate “World Intellectual Property Day\,” traditionally observed on April 26\, 2024. However\, due to scheduling constraints\, we have rescheduled the celebration to April 29\, 2024. The webinar’s focal theme is “Intellectual Property Rights & Innovations” marking this significant occasion. \nWorld Intellectual Property Day emphasizes the importance of intellectual property rights\, encompassing patents\, copyrights\, designs\, trademarks\, and plant varieties\, all crucial for fostering innovation and creativity in the scientific community. It also serves to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of new inventors\, creators\, and entrepreneurs. \nThe significance of World Intellectual Property Day lies in its ability to foster an inclusive and diverse environment conducive to embracing novel ideas and perspectives. It aims to safeguard research output\, technology\, brand identity\, and creativity\, thereby effectively addressing contemporary agricultural challenges. \nMNLU-Mumbai’s Knowledge Resource Centre and BOSLA-Mumbai have undertaken initiatives to promote awareness and encourage innovation and creativity in the realm of intellectual property rights.
